iThe design activity, undertaken every time the Customer requests a new product and documented by suitable forms, is managed by the technical office which monitors its development, establishing in advance both the managers and the terms of implementation of each phase and controls the effective execution of the assigned tasks, coordinating the meetings between the designers in order to guarantee the success of the final product.

Design and development input

The input elements include any assembly drawing produced during the offer phase (which identifies the maximum size of the product), the detailed technical specification attached to the offer, the drawings, the specifications and the specifications made available by the Customer. Furthermore, the applicable laws and standards and the results of projects already carried out previously are also considered as basic design data.

Design and development checks

The control of the detailed assembly drawing includes the verification of completeness with respect to the bill of materials and the verification of the overall dimensions.

The verification of the drawings includes the analysis of the same to evaluate their completeness and correctness, the verification of the compilation of the title block and, for the power circuit, the possible verification of the performance using a specific calculation program.

The control of the project, carried out by the technical office in collaboration with the designers, includes:

  • the evaluation of existing procedures to decide whether to prepare particular specifications for production;
  • an evaluation of the design results against the input data;

  • a comparison between the design results and the specifications of the materials normally used;

  • a comparison with similar projects to prevent any problems;

  • an analysis of the alleged methods of use of the product;

  • the test of the electrical diagram and of the power circuit, in view of the expected operations;

  • the characteristics of the product for safety purposes.

Any anomalies found during the control and / or review phase involve the repetition or variation of what was produced in the previous phase and the repetition of the verification and / or review only of the changes made or to the entire project.

The preliminary validation, carried out by the Technical Management before delivering the product to the Customer, takes into account the outcome of the test and the subsequent declaration of conformity while the final validation, carried out after the acceptance of the supply by the Customer, takes into account details interventions made necessary after shipment, not necessarily subsequent to anomalies detected by the Customer or complaints submitted by the same, and the outcome of the on-board testing.

Design and development output

The design output includes drawings of mechanical parts, carpentry and assembly boards, power circuit drawings, electrical diagrams, information sheets, regarding monitoring and measurement requirements.

After the realization of the product, the executive drawings are made that take into account any changes made with respect to the initial project.

Design and development change

The design changes may arise both from Saie’s needs that emerged during the design or construction of the product, and as a result of order changes expressed by the Customer. Design changes are treated in the same way as initial specifications, and as such subject to review, verification and validation.

Assistance for commissioning, laying and installation

 

SAIE provides its customers, if requested, with assistance services for the commissioning of the systems, installation services of the electrical panels made, both low voltage and medium voltage, installation of the heating systems to the tanks.
